ACTIVITY 2
Use ONE art medium to render the image in any way you like...
I used small fine liner marks as this is a doodling technique i have used for many years...
below is an example of such doodling!
ACTIVITY 3
Use A DIFFERENT art medium to render the image in any way you like...
In my example I trial acrylic paint using the same technique as when drawing with fineliner- lots of lines
See below my artwork taking shape
ACTIVITY 4
Collage and reconstruct!
The final task in this lesson is for you to cut up your work and collage it to reconstruct a new meaning.
My example is just a simple way to do this, you can explore this more by photocopying your work twice and creating two different collages.
There is also the option to combine someone elses work into your own!
DRAWING LOGOS
Choose a logo, trace it out in pencil and later render your drawing in pastels
see examples below...
Test your knowledge....this is a year 3 student drawing... note down the technique and all the changes made
See OTHER STUDENT EXAMPLES...
See OTHER STUDENT EXAMPLES...
LOGO can also be created in Illustrator using the line tool...
you should grid up the space and draw HALF the logo then reflect it with the below tool like shown. See attached file.

symbol drawing representing school
Look at the artwork and note down what you think it is about.
What do you notice about this artwork?
How many colours are there?
Can you see that objects are used to symbolise a place... talk in pairs about what you think each object might symbolise.
Let's discuss!
Your task
Brainstorm all the things that remind you about school
i.e. tall building, grassy fields, paint brushes in the art classroom, tea at morning recess, smart teachers...
Once you have your list, work out how you might draw these things to create a collaged artwork.
We will add little people at the end to represent the busy life of our school!

BACKGROUND of the artwork...
Commissioned by Monocle for their July 2015 issue, the illustration appears in the Business Briefing section along side a piece entitled We own the streets. The article examines the growth of a Kickstarter-esque community-building movement which has been gaining traction in Seattle, Washington.
